Welcome to Leading People with me, Jerry Murray. This week it's One Simple Thing, where in each episode I share a quick, actionable tip to help you bring out the best in yourself and others. Because leadership is a different job. It's not about doing the work anymore, it's about enabling others to do it well. That shift is subtle, but it's critical. You're no longer measured by your own output, but you're measured by the performance, engagement, and output of your team. And that requires new skills, new mindsets, and frankly, a whole new identity. Because what got you here probably won't get you there. So here's one simple thing to remember. To succeed as a team leader, you have to stop being the hero and start becoming the guide. That's a different mindset, a different skill set, and a different way of measuring your success.
